    I love all your videos. I am a first year beekeeper and have grown my 5 frame nuc into two 8 frame brood boxes and think I need to add another.. they have almost filled 2 medium honey supers already not to mention loads of honey in the brood boxes. I may add another brood box to give them room and not swarm and this next spring I will split it up. Watching your videos has really helped me up my bee game! Thanks

    GUYS! The stings in the first minute! Y’all have to get “The Bug Bite Thing”!! You put it on your skin where you were stung, pull back, and it sucks the venom out. It really works! I was skeptical until I used it. No swelling, redness or itching. Keep it with you when you work the bees!

    That’s quite the equipment setup! Here’s another bee tidbit: Have you ever noticed bees at work? The buzzing hive, bees zipping around like they’ve got places to be and honey to make. That is exactly what it means to be "busy as a bee." These little guys are the ultimate multitaskers, flitting from flower to flower, collecting nectar, and building honeycombs like experts. Being "busy as a bee" means you are hustling, juggling a bunch of tasks like a pro.

    @14:35 and other places... you have Africanized genetics spreading through your apiary. Locate those particular hives and tarp them. Like as in our Christian life; Romans 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. Africanized "Killer bees" are the essence of evil, IMHO, and should be sent back to the pit of Hell. Further, peer-reviewed studies have proven that Africanized bees produce less honey than European bees and produce many times over the amount of aggressive bees. Every sting the keepers took on that day are right on the head to the Beekeeper in charge. Be a good beekeeper, as Jesus is the Good Shepherd.

    • @JeffHorchoff
      @JeffHorchoff 2 дня назад

      I disagree with your assertion some of these bees are Africanized, a bit aggressive, but in my opinion a good trait. Because I rarely visit our yards to check on them, our presences is new to the bees and they will naturally be protective of their hive. If you were to come work these bees for yourself you would see how quickly they calm down once our work began. Thank you for your opinion and for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed

    Those fumes enter the honey on a microscopic level. Even though the honey will need to be uncapped; diffusion is going to happen. "Honey Robber" is a mild concentration of butyric acid with certain scents mixed in so that it doesn't make the beekeeper throw up. In 1974, my high school science teacher opened a bottle of pure butyric acid in the science lab for one minute to demonstrate the principle of diffusion. The whole science lab, and then the hallway cleared out. There was a complaint from the janitor, because even the classes downstairs could smell it. Mr. Kuehnis was not able to do that demonstration the next year; but a lot of students, teachers, and staff had diffusion hard-wired into their brains that day! (Teachers like that were instrumental in my becoming a scientist) It would be my unsolicited opinion that you modulate the amount of "Honey Robber" on your fume boards, and keep the time that they are on the hives to an absolute minimum. People with discerning senses of smell and taste can taste things like where a variety of grapes were grown that went into a bottle of wine. Napa (California) Valley vintners are not allowed to buy bulk grapes from outside Napa County to make their wines- even from Sonoma County. Yes, there is that much difference in flavors and tastes resulting from soils and regions. I would posit that honey tasters with a sensitive palate can taste the butyric acid if it is overused in the harvesting process. It certainly would be an interesting experiment.

    • @JeffHorchoff
      @JeffHorchoff 2 дня назад

      The fume boards are left on the hive for a very minimal amount of time and to date, no one has ever said a word about the honey having a chemical taste to it. God's peace. Mr. Ed
